Spend your day exploring the many attractions of this offbeat city. Breathe in the heavenly scents of the International Rose Test Garden, home to over 10,000 rose bushes of more than 650 different varieties, or wander through the meticulously maintained, tranquil beauty of the Portland Japanese Garden, and enjoy the magnificent view of snow-capped Mount Hood. Or spend hours getting lost in the world’s largest independent bookstore, exploring the collection of the Portland Art Museum, strolling along the waterfront in downtown Portland, or tasting your way through one of the city’s mouthwatering food halls.

Portland - Mount Rainier, WA

Today, make the scenic drive from Portland to Mount Rainier. Take a relaxing ride on the Mt. Rainier Gondola and dine at the Summit House for spectacular views of the Cascade Range, or climb aboard the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad for a taste of history as the vintage locomotive chugs through 18 miles of pristine forests.

Make your way from Mt. Rainier to Seattle, maybe stopping in Tacoma to stroll the museum district and enjoy some of the city’s famous glass art, have lunch on the waterfront, or have an animal encounter at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. Settle in at your hotel in Seattle and enjoy the city’s iconic skyline and surrounding natural beauty.

Get to know this high-tech but laid-back city today. No trip to Seattle is complete without a visit to the legendary Pike Place Market to witness the fish throwing! Afterward, stroll along the waterfront for gorgeous views of Elliott Bay, plenty of local restaurants offering fresh seafood, and the sophisticated Seattle Aquarium. You may even want to take a cruise of the bay for a relaxing ride and panoramic views of the city.

Greet the day with a visit to the Seattle Center. Located on the northern fringe of Seattle's downtown area, this is the cultural, art, and entertainment center of the city. Ride the retro monorail, get a sweeping view of the city from the top of the Space Needle, stroll through the Chihuly Gardens and Glass Museum, enjoy the musical International Fountain, and much more. In the afternoon, you may want to make your way to Discovery Park to explore its miles of trails and beaches, historic West Point Lighthouse, and breathtaking views.
